Kangertech K1 Box MOD
This is Kange’s flagship 75Watt MOD, the Kangertech K1 Box. With the highest safety in mind, Kanger have turned to one of the most advanced chips for a vaporizer, the Evolv DNA 75. Other manufacturers can try to be this good, but Kangertech have realized the Evolv DNA 75 chip is far superior than current Asian in house chips, and have included the ELVOV in their flagship Kangertech K1 Box MOD.
To me this unit could have done with more power to help complete their range, I was thinking more towards 200watts, to cover the more advanced user end with this very aesthetically pleasing design. This however, was not Kangertech’s intention and this is directly aimed at an intermediate vaping enthusiast looking for a quality, highly collectable, individually designed, masterpiece.
Quality of the Build:
This unit is beautifully designed and each MOD looking different due to its very psychedelic stabilised wood finish. Our test unit came in a blue finish and the zinc alloy C surround is nicely curved, with the Evolv DNA 75 screen indented to protect from any unwanted knocks out in the field. The battery casing is accessed with a very well designed screw cap which then has a further thumb and finger twistable battery lock to stop any battery wobbling inside the unit and keep the contacts firmly in place. The size and weight of this MOD is perfect, it is very light even with the battery inside. The most portable of any single box MODs out there.
The only qualm I have with unit is the fire button being a bit spongy.

What works well on this Kangertech K1 Box MOD:
With this being 75Watts, all of Kangertech’s tanks, and most of other manufacturers tanks with a 510 thread fitting, are happy on this device, just leaving the Kanger DOTA RDTA on the edge of being useful with this MOD. (Advance Build, edge of ohms law dependant) I have been using the Kangertech K1 Box along with an authentic Sony VTC4 with a 30A rating, and teamed it up with the Kanger DOTA RDTA to test the limits of the MODs safety features and experience its use.
Captain Vapour Test:
I decided to test this MOD to the limit… My 0.16 Dual Coil Clapton Demon Build in the wonderful Kanger DOTA RDTA caused the battery to get very warm with a constant use for five minutes, this showed me the DNA chip’s excellent safety features, displaying how many amps drawn – 19Amps, and also showed weak battery when the battery was needing a recharge and taken to its limit. The power delivery was smooth and perfect for this aggressive coil build.
Do remember my build was for testing purposes to see what the Kangertech K1 Box MOD would do near its limit, you need at least a two battery MOD going below 0.2ohms with a Coil Build. I would advise running the Kanger DOTA RDTA with a 0.2ohm+ coil with the Kangertech K1 Box. Using this with a standard tank such as the Kanger TopTank Mini, Kanger PANGU tank or the PROTANK4 sees this device performing beautifully and safely, as to be expected on such a well constructed MOD device. Overall I love this MOD, and very happy to place this at the front of my collection.

Captain Vapour Review:
This unit arrived at the perfect time while I was tuning the now perfected Captain Vapour Mango Lassi E-Liquid, I was able to further its flavour and design with the starter/ intermediate vape unit delivery along with this unit running at 70w on a 0.16ohm coil, and it certainly delivered. Huge flavour to perfection! The Kanger K1 screen showed 0.16ohms for the coil resistance and presented 17 – 20 amps load on the battery in use.
Captain’s word on the K1 series: I would like to see Kanger’s premium range extended. A DNA200 chipset K2 Box with two battery compartments, and a K3 Box with a DNA250 chipset with a three battery compartments would definitely be on the Captain’s table.
